What Is This 'Run Car On Water' Business I Keep Hearing About?
Alright, first of all, let's set the record straight: you can not go to your faucet, fill up your favorite beer pitcher with water, and drive a car. No car. Not any car.
Now, you can take water, break it down, and get something that WILL run certain cars and that kind of car would be a Hydrogen vehicle.
What is a Hydrogen Car?
It's a car that uses hydrogen as its main source of fuel, instead of gasoline or anything else for that matter. Many people think Hydrogen cars are the way of the future. Hydrogen is the lightest, simplest, high energy yield element that we know of. How do they work? 1. You put hydrogen gas into the tank 2. The gas goes into a Fuel Cell. This is going to 'break apart' the hydrogen molecules and mix them with oxygen coming in from outside the vehicle. 3. This process creates electricity, with water vapor as the by product. 4. The electricity is used to run the electric motor in the Hydrogen car. You now have a car that is powered by an electric motor, but does not need to be plugged into an outlet to get its electricity You also have a vehicle that's only emissions is water vapor. Co2 free. So what about these 'running my car on water' programs? There are two different programs out there. Here is one and here is the other. We have never used, nor have we bought either one. From reading the sale page, I'm pretty confident you are going to be learning how build a fuel cell and install it into your car. That is just my take. So check them out. I'm sure they are very viable plans to create a fuel cell that you can install into your ride, but don't believe the hype.
